Overview
US Route 9 is one of the Capital District's four United States Routes.
Providing access to Albany from the eastern side of the Hudson River Valley,
and then hugging the Adirondack Northway, Interstate 87, north of Albany, providing a lifeline for towns within the Adirondacks.
Route 9 travels though some of the areas best known tourist locations, such as Downtown Albany, Latham, Halfmoon, Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, and Lake George Village.
Route 9 also provides an alternate route for traffic that would normally travel on the Adirondack Northway, Interstate 87.
